Picnic Kick-off Concert and BBQ at St. Thomas’ Historic Railway Station
What’s the Annual Fred Eaglesmith Charity Picnic all about?
Some years ago Fred decided to invite a few of his friends to join him for a picnic and to make some music. They all had so much fun the summer tradition of The Fred Eaglesmith Annual Charity Picnic was born.
Now, each year Fred is sent CDs from all across Canada and the United States by some great musicians who would like to come out and play to a great crowd for a great cause. Fred calls up some of these folks, and a few of his close friends too. They pour in by van and car and set up tents, then miraculously, music lovers from all over arrive to share the weekend.
This year the proceeds of the event will focus on supporting bio- diversity:
The Long Point Basin Land Trust. The Long Point Basin Land Trust preserves habitat through: land ownership, land management activities and other legal instruments. It also provides opportunities for people to reconnect with nature through hands-on experience
